Crowd Barrier with Close-Mesh Panels

Made from the same long-life PVC materials as Fornells running rail, and available in different formats according to the location and available budgets, the rail is connected to the top of the posts whilst the mesh panels are fixed around the posts by a patented flanged-connector system.

Designed to be rigid, the mesh panels use a 5.5cm spacing between mesh, and 5mm diameter hard-grade galvanised steel wire that has been coated in white plastic. The panels are rib-formed to offer exceptional rigidity in case of kicking hooves. This is our most robust fencing model where people and nervous pre-race horses can safely be present in close proximity.

Gates & Access Openings

The access ways to the racetrack have to cross through rail openings ; these openings can be simple open & close sections of rail known as Slip-rails or fully-anchored Gates.

Slip-rails can be sliding type or totally removable.

Fornells manufactures in-house an entire range of Gates that allow a continuity with the running rail and offer different operational modes (Swing, swivel, swing & swivel, sliding, pivoting etc.)

Fornells custom makes its gates in its own steel workshop, they are made to measure using highest-grade steel and white powder-coated polyester paint to ensure long-life in the outdoors.

Self Stable Rail

In this configuration, Rail is connected to posts on a counter-weighted structure that is not anchored to the ground. This allows it to be quickly displaced and installed. Applications for self-stable rail include enclosing the starting area, or railing off the gaps at the end of the starting chutes of the racecourse. Its also an appropriate solution for temporary arenas. - 4. Rails & Gates

Double T Rail

In this configuration, two parallel rails are connected to a single upright post.

Fornells' double T Safety Rail is available with both Standard and Reinforced Rail profiles ; double rail is usually used to separate two track areas :
Minimising the space-width between the two tracks ;
Only needing one single post and footing to hold up two rails ;
Enhancing the field visually.

Moveable Footing : Quick ‘n Install

Quick'n install is a moveable footing for use with the Standard Safety Running Rail swan neck posts : it is easy to move and has no steel apparent above the ground. It is recommended to install this with the PVC honeycombed infill post to improve overall safety.

It represents the best value for a mobile footing.

Moveable footing : Steel T Post

This moveable steel footing allows an easy change of the running rail position for any of our rail profiles.

Made from galvanised steel, this footing can easily be driven then retrieved from the turf track in order to move the posts and hence the running rail line. Its wide base gives it ample stability. Its design allows an easy height-adjustment for the post in order to achieve fine alignment of the rail.

This footing is particularly recommended for soft grounds.

Fixed Footing : Steel tube Footing

Traditional steel infill tubes are proposed by Fornells in galvanised steel and allow the plastic swan-neck posts to be very accurately positioned and thus the running-rail position makes a perfect track boundary. Its design allows an easy height-adjustment for the post in order to achieve fine alignment of the rail.

The steel infill offers a firm pushback for the running-rail and a long-term anti-corrosion solution.
